How to edit and print your finished template.

Editing the DL Size Handbill Template

  1. Open the file from your computer and you will see the 3 identical DL handbills on an A4 page. There are two A4 pages in this document (front and back) since the handbills are printed on both sides. Note: only the front page can be changed.
  2. You will notice the existing sample particulars (such as the top message, suburb, venue, dates and phone) that need to be changed are highlighted in blue. (They are only highlighted blue on the computer, they will not print with the blue highlight.)
  3. Update the highlighted information to reflect the details for your course. Note that you only have to update the details on one of the DL handbills – the other two will update automatically with the new information when you select another blue section.
  4. If you are using a 2 venue or 3 venue template, then you need  to update the other locations also.
  5. If any detail does not apply, simply delete it and leave it blank.
  6. When you have finished, SAVE your updated file.
  7. Do a test print and check all the details thoroughly.
  8. To print your Handbill, follow the instructions below “Printing your handbill or poster”.

Printing your Handbill or Poster

  1. You can either print out the handbill or poster on your on own printer or take a copy of the file (on a USB memory stick) to a commercial digital printer such as Snap Printing or Officeworks. If you are printing the handbill, ask the printer to trim the A4 pages into “DL” flyers for you.
  2. Important note about printing your DL Size Handbill. Your finished PDF Handbill file is set up at A4 and will trim into 3 equal sized DL flyers when printed out at full size. When printing from Adobe Reader please ensure that Page Scaling is set to ‘None’, otherwise it will not trim to the proper dimensions. This setting can be located in the Print menu when using Adobe Reader.  These instructions should be conveyed to your commercial digital printer such as Snap Printing or Officeworks etc.

Enjoy your handbilling and postering!
